We have a dual registered housing support and care at home service, which includes our four shared living houses. Within these houses, people with learning disabilities live together and are supported by live-in assistants and live-out assistants. Shared meals, shared life and shared community are the basis of creating a home for the people we support. We try to enable people to live with us in L’Arche for as long as is possible. Some of our core members have lived in our community for more than forty years.

People with disabilities really are the masters of their own care and support in our houses - we model do with, not do for- truly championing the abilities of each member of the community. Coming together and recognising each individual for who they are and what they believe in allows for assistants, people with learning disabilities and volunteers to have mutually transforming relationships.
